Yes, as part of joining our network, your business brand will become part of the O'Brien brand. This is one of the advantages of joining, as our brand is well-known and established in the community.
Even though your brand is O'Brien, it’s still your business and you will still have the same level of autonomy to run your business. You will keep the same team and still provide great service to the same area.
The main difference for your business is that you will gain the opportunity to implement systems and resources in your operations to help drive the evolution of your business under the O'Brien umbrella.

Not only do our Members have the opportunity to work together and collaborate on jobs, but O'Brien Electrical & Plumbing also hosts a number of networking sessions and award evenings every year to help bring our Members together. We hold an Annual Advantage Conference each year, as well as regular seminars, regional meetings, social events and supplier functions. We believe in the importance of building strong relationships amongst our Members to grow and learn from one another, as well as provide a sense of comradery and fun.
O'Brien uses multiple Cloud Based systems across job management, inventory control, staff recruitment, marketing and accounting. We use them because they are all tried and tested and user-friendly – meaning they are excellent tools that work to help your business grow. You and your team will have access to training and resources to help you.
Every business is unique and so we treat every opportunity differently. However, we do have a monthly Member fee, which will vary depending on the size of your business. At no point is there an obligation to join, so you can feel free to contact us and discuss your options. We can provide full transparency over costs and more at this time.
8-12 weeks from the initial point of contact through to issuing documentation. This gives us time to understand your experience, the ins and outs of your business and your goals and ambitions. We also assess your business to identify how we can help you grow and evolve. Every business is different and at different stages of the business ownership journey. Our model is not the right fit for everyone.
The onboarding process to join O'Brien Electrical & Plumbing network typically takes around 8-12 weeks. During that time, you’ll have our support every step of the way with a dedicated Onboarding Specialist.
Unlike other franchise models, there are no geographical limitations. This means O'Brien Electrical & Plumbing does not restrict Members from trading in any location. As part of the O'Brien network, you can continue to trade in your current area, while also receiving the support and resources to help expand your serviceable area as you grow. Members are also able to advertise and service any area they wish. This is what sets us apart from other franchising groups.
As an O'Brien Member, you will have access to a national and respected brand, our business model, our wealth of experience and our extensive industry network. This includes: An Onboarding Specialist Your Onboarding Specialist supports your integration into the network for your first 12 months. This includes systems implementation, branding changeover, supplier changeover, financial analysis of the business and reporting. The Area Coach will then take over after 12 months. A Dedicated Area Coach Our Area Coaches travel to you for training and support. They perform regular check-ins with you, monthly reviews and discussions around financial results, as well as quarterly business planning sessions and annual strategic planning and budgeting meetings to help you. Additional financial and business support Accelerator and Incubator Groups to foster business growth and acceleration. You can also access regular webinars and recordings on various business, financial, team and performance topics. Marketing resources and support You will have access to 1:1 education sessions, marketing webinars, resources and training on marketing best practices and systems. Business systems - the full suite of platforms and software We provide you with an array of systems and tools to use in the running of your business. This includes job management software, accounting software, financial analytics and benchmarking, HR Software, Staff Recruitment software and more.
